"RIGHTS MANAGED" OR "RIGHTS PROTECTED" IMAGES

Artbox’s exceptional library of rights managed (RM) or rights-protected images offers modern and compelling licenses for a one-time use. These images differ from royalty free images in several ways:

1. You may use a rights managed image only once, and you must specify information about how you will use it in order to get the pricing for it.
   
   
2. Artbox only licenses the image you choose from our RM image library to you for a specific period of time, so you can be sure that if you are using an image for a book cover, no other book cover may use that same image for the period of time for which you license it. An exception to this rule is the next item.
   
   
3. If you purchase RM images for the internet or internal company use, or some other applications, you must negotiate those rights separately. For a further explanation of these and other terms, please visit the licensing page for rights managed images.

  ROYALTY FREE IMAGES

Our stock library offers royalty-free (RF) images of every description. When you purchase a royalty free image, you pay a one-time fee according to its size. You may purchase RF images singly or on a CD in a particular category.

You must also check what usage is allowed with royalty free image. These can be used freely with some limitations. No image may be used alone or combined with another image for any use that is derogatory, offensive, blasphemous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or libelous. In Addition, you may not allow any royalty-free image to be used by a third party. That means that you may purchase an image for use in a project you are doing for clients, but the clients may not use the image in other ways, because they are not licensed to use the images under our agreement: only you are.
